BJP MP writes to Speaker over 'False Information' of Nusrat Jahan's marital status

New Delhi: BJP MP from Badaun Sanghamitra Maurya has demanded the Lok Sabha Speaker to cancel the Lok Sabha membership of TMC MP Nusrat Jahan from Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal. Nusrat is in the news recently for breaking her alleged marriage with Nikhil Jain.

Nusrat's lok sabha membership:

In a letter sent to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Badaun MP has accused Nusrat Jahan of indecent conduct. It is said that Nusrat Jahan had pronounced her name as Nusrat Jahan Ruhi Jain during the oath of office as a member of the Lok Sabha. Nusrat Jahan's husband's name is written on the website of Lok Sabha, Nikhil Jain.

Controversy over Nusrat's wedding:

It is known that Nusrat Jahan married industrialist Nikhil Jain with pomp on 19 June 2019 in Bordum city of Turkey under the Turkish Marriage Regulation Act. The whole country had witnessed this royal wedding. The photo and video of this wedding, which took place during the wave of Lok Sabha elections, went viral on social media.

Both were married according to Hindu and Christian customs. Nusrat and Nikhil hosted the reception at the ITC Royal Hotel in Kolkata. Where many big personalities from other fields including politics and film world had reached. In the year 2020, when both of them had their first anniversary, Nusrat and Nikhil congratulated each other.

But this marriage of both did not last even for two years. This time before the second anniversary, the news of the separation of both came into the limelight. Nusrat Jahan had said about the marriage that she was married under the Turkish Marriage Act, so it is not valid in India.

She had made all the allegations against Nikhil and said that their relationship is like a live-in relationship, so there is no need to even apply for divorce. It was said that when marriage is not valid in India, then how is the divorce? Not only this, Nusrat Jahan had also deleted all the wedding pictures from the social media platform.
