Lucknow: There is no truce yet between chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle, Shivpal Singh Yadav, whatever the two may claim. Transfer of some officials close to Shivpal is a pointer in this regard.

Notable among them are the principal secretary in Public Works Department Aradhana Shukla and secretary Anurag Yadav. Both were his hand-picked men during his tenure as minister for Pubic Works.

Akhilesh had taken this department out of his uncle's portfolios sometime ago and has retained that himself but these officials had remained untouched. In the transfer of Indian Administrative Service officers, effected on Friday, both were shifted. In all 15 such officers were sent to new departments.

Aradhana had been transferred to transport department but she had not joined it and stayed put in PWD because of Shivpal. Now she has been asked to go to the same department. Similarly, Anurag has been asked to join an unimportant department of Khadi and Gramudyog . The then PWD minister had seen to it that they remained in saddle in his department.

This may be just a beginning. He may effect some more changes and send most of his trusted lieutenants packing. He has already made a hint to this effect, by confiding to some of his old aides, that like Mughal emperor Aurangazeb he has not taken out his " sword " yet.

He was referring to a report in a newspaper published a couple of days ago in which he was compared to the emperor who is known for his cruelties towards family members including father.
