As per sources close to the party, the Sena chief is expected to organize a meeting to ruminate over the alliance of Shiv Sena and BJP ahead the Lok Sabha elections.

According to a party member, Shiv Sena has started deciding upon candidates that will contest over 48 constituencies in Maharashtra and is all set to contest for the elections all by itself in case the alliance doesn't form.

Earlier, Shiv Sena and BJP formed an alliance and fought over 48 seats in the 2014 LS elections in which BJP contested for 24 seats and won 23 seats and Sena contested on 22 seats and won 18.

The party member said the party workers are all braced up for the upcoming elections and there are preparations going on at the grass root level to achieve a historic win.

"Whether there's an alliance or not, the party needs to gear up for the Lok Sabha polls, though the preparations will surely put a pressure on the ally" the member was quoted saying."

Shiv Sena has constantly been attacking BJP and its policies including its take on the controversial Ram Mandir, the Rafale scam and some other major issues, seems Sena is in no mood to give in and is preparing to go solo this election season.

Next week, party chief Uddhav Thackeray will address the party workers to chalk out the plans for the upcoming elections.
