Nitish Kumar, who had resigned in the morning today, was sworn in as the chief minister of Bihar for the record ninth time.

Kumar, who was earlier the CM of Bihar in alliance with the RJD, would now head the coalition government of JD (U) and BJP.

After resigning, Nitish Kumar said that many things were not going right in the alliance for some time, hence this decision had to be taken.

Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh posted on X and wrote, "Nitish Kumar, who changes political partners again and again, is giving a tough competition to the chameleon in changing colors. The people of Bihar will not forgive the experts of this betrayal and those who make them dance on their tunes. It is very clear that the Prime Minister and BJP are scared of 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' and this political drama has been created to divert attention from it."

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the game had just started, the game is still pending’’I do what I say. You take it in writing, JDU party will end in 2024 itself,’’ he remarked.

Nitish Kumar has now taken oath as Chief Minister for the 9th time. Jitan Ram Manjhi's party Hindustani Awam Morcha (HUM) will also be included in this new government. HUM has four MLAs in Bihar. This time, two Deputy Chief Ministers will also be made from BJP's quota.

There are total 243 seats in Bihar Assembly. And to form the government here, support of 122 MLAs is required. Who has this magic number?

RJD now has 79 seats. After the elections, 4 out of 5 AIMIM MLAs also joined RJD. Now the only big party along with RJD is Congress, which has 19 MLAs. Apart from this, CPI-ML also has 12 MLAs. CPI and CPM also have two MLAs each. Adding all this, the figure reaches 114, seven short of the majority mark.

On the other hand, BJP has 78 MLAs. JDU has 45 seats. Along with them, 4 MLAs of HUM also have the support. This alliance has the support of total 127 MLAs.
