As expected the ‘kingmakers’ in the NDA have sought their pound of flesh in the next union government to be headed by Narendra Modi. In the Lok Sabha polls, BJP has secured 240 seats and is 33 short of the majority figure of 273.

The JD (U) of Nitish Kumar and the TDP headed by N.Chnadrababu Naidu, which have secured 12 and 16 seats respectively have emerged as kingmakers and without their support BJP will not be able to form its government.

The NDA government is going to be formed in the country once again. PM Narendra Modi can take oath as Prime Minister for the third time. In the Lok Sabha elections, NDA got 293 seats and India Alliance got 234 seats. Nitish Kumar is the leader of JDU, an ally of NDA. He has won 12 seats in Bihar.

In this regard, his presence is very important for NDA. At the same time, there is news from JDU sources that Nitish Kumar has demanded three ministries. Along with giving special state status to Bihar, he has put forward the formula of one ministry for four MPs in front of the government. Actually, 12 MPs are from JDU, so it wants 3 ministries. According to the news received from sources, Nitish Kumar wants the ministries of Railways, Agriculture and Finance. At the same time, the Railway Ministry is in priority.

The BJP may find it difficult to agree to the demands as all the three departments were headed by BJP ministers in the previous government. It remains to be seen if the BJP does give Nitish Kumar what he wants.
