New Bihar government seeks to get caste equations right before Lok Sabha polls

Caste equation holds special importance in the politics of Bihar. This has been taken full care of in the new government also.

In the new government, a complete plan was prepared to solve the caste based equation. In Nitish Kumar's new cabinet, faces from castes like two Kurmi, two Bhumihar, Yadav, Koeri, Musahar, Rajput and Kahar have been included. Let us know how many ministers were made from which society.

Nitish Kumar, who became the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 9th time, himself belongs to the Kurmi community, which is a big vote bank of the party. Apart from this, other faces have also been given place in Nitish cabinet keeping in mind the caste equation. Vijay Chaudhary-comes from Bhumihar caste, Vijendra Prasad comes from Yadav community, Shravan Kumar-Kurmi, Prem Kumar-Kahar (EBC), Santosh Kumar Suman, Musahar (Dalit) and Sumit Singh-comes from Rajput caste.

Bihar BJP President Samrat Chaudhary has been made the Deputy Chief Minister. 54 year old Chaudhary comes from Koeri (Kushwaha) caste. In 2023, BJP had made him the state president of the party to garner votes of Kushwaha community.

Vijay Kumar Sinha, the second deputy CM of the new government, comes from the Bhumihar caste. Since there are a large number of people of Bhumihar caste in Bihar, hence a big responsibility for Sinha is a part of this equation. 55-year-old Sinha had joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in his childhood.

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor used the word 'snowlygoster' for Nitish Kumar for the second time. Snollygoster means clever and unprincipled politician. Earlier in 2017, when Nitish left RJD-Congress and returned to NDA, Tharoor had written 'Word of the day - Snowlygoster'. Now tagging the same message, he wrote - I did not realize that this word would be used again.

JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi said, Congress wanted to snatch the leadership of 'India' alliance. In the meeting on December 19, as part of a conspiracy, the name of Mallikarjun Kharge was proposed to lead the alliance. Earlier, there was a unanimous decision in Mumbai that the alliance will remain without a PM face. India alliance has no plan to fight against BJP.

Election strategist Prashant Kishore said, today's incident has proved that not only Nitish Kumar but all the parties in Bihar are 'Palturam'. He claimed that this alliance will also not be able to survive in the 2025 assembly elections. This incident will cause big loss to BJP. Kishore said, whichever alliance he is in, he will not be able to win more than 20 seats in the next assembly elections.
