Lucknow: In an hour long meeting with his son and Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday, the national president of Samajwadi Party Mulayam Singh Yadav has urged him to withdraw his letter claiming right over the party symbol 'Cycle' from Election Commission.

The SP president also assured Akhilesh Yadav in the meeting that he will be the CM's face in UP while the former would remain party's national President.

The letter was submitted by sacked Samajwadi leader Ram Gopal Yadav, on behalf of UP CM, to the EC in the form of an application to claim his right over the party symbol after all the attempts of truce within the two sections of party – led by Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav – had failed.

It may be recalled that in the 45-minute long meeting with the Election Commission on January 2 last, Mulayam had also handed over a memorandum to the EC officials claiming his right over the symbol 'cycle'.
