Mulayam expels CM Akhilesh, Ram Gopal from SP for six years

Lucknow: The internal feud among the Samajwadi Party (SP) has reached to the level of crescendo as party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday expelled Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for six years from the party over indiscipline.

Mulayam made this announcement at hurriedly-called press conference in Lucknow. SP General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav has also been expelled for six years on the charge of convening emergency party executive meet exceeding his powers as per the party constitution.

Action comes soon after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was issued a show cause notice by Mulayam, seeking explanation why he released 'his' list of candidates for the assembly elections 2017. The notice was also issued against Ram Gopal.

Making a passionate appeal to partymen not to be misguided by Ram Gopal's 'unauthorised' invitation for the meet. ''The party took action against Akhilesh for his support to the meeting,'' he added.

Blaming Ram Gopal for ruining the career of Akhilesh totally, he said ''it was me who made his the Chief Minister despite opposition from all quarters in the family and party.'' he disclosed adding '' no father has done so much for his son what I did in 2012.''

He said that as party chief he was left with no other option but to take such action against Akhilesh Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav.
