Most of the crowd at Modi's roadshow were onlookers: Mayawati

Varanasi: Taking a dig at the massive roadshow held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his home constituency Varanasi, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati on Saturday said that BJP gathers crowd from outside, forgetting that they will not participate in the state election process.

Addressing a rally here on Saturday, Mayawati said, "In roadshows of both BJP and SP-Congress alliance today in Varanasi, most of the crowd were onlookers."

Mayawati said that Modi promised to clean the mother Ganga but he completely failed in doing so. She said, "This time, not only the people in Uttar Pradesh, but also mother Ganga will punish BJP."

It may be mentioned that Varanasi, along with six more districts, will go to polls in the seventh and last phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on March 8.
