Mohsin Raza: AIMPLB should be banned for supporting Triple Talaq

Lucknow: With too much storms turning on for Triple Talaq, it is interesting to quote Mohsin Raza, the lone Muslim face of Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet, who stated “Triple Talaq is merely a method to traumatize women which is unquestionably opposed by Islam.”

He added, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) should be banned for supporting the custom of Triple Talaq.

This statement by State Minister Mohsin Raza came a day after the closure of AIMPLB meeting conducted for discussing major issues like Triple Talaq and Babari masjid where it was decided that a ‘Code of Conduct’ will be issued regarding the divorce issue, so that the Muslims could follow it while preserving the customs imposed by the Shariyat.

Other statements by Raza

  • Organizations like AIMPLB do not work in the favour of the people.
  • It should be entirely banned as it works against the constitution of India.
  • Proper laws should be formulated for Triple Talaq and women should be given their rights.
  • Instead of naming it as Muslim Personal law board it should be renamed as ‘Maulwi Personal law board.’
