The electoral court has been laid for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held in Tamil Nadu on April 19. NDA has used all its strength to break into this fort of Dravidian parties. It is clear from the four election rallies to be held here by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the proposed visit of Union Minister Amit Shah to the state, this time the NDA has given special importance to Tamil Nadu. PM Modi will hold rallies and road shows where BJP has more chances of winning. The NDA, which is running with the target of crossing four hundred in this election, is pinning a lot of hopes on Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu State President Annamalai is continuously trying to prepare the ground for BJP by criticizing the ruling party on corruption and other issues.

Recently, the BJP President's morale is high after he got involved in the case of Katchatheevu. There is a sizeable fisherman population in the state. His vote is important on many Lok Sabha seats. In such a situation, Katchatheevu's case may prove helpful to the party to some extent. Along with party leaders, workers are also working very hard in the state. He is campaigning in every street carrying the party flag across the state including the metropolis. They are telling people about the schemes of the Central Government. In between, Prime Minister Modi is also continuously addressing the workers and instilling enthusiasm in them.

The major parties in the NDA, Tamil Maanila Congress and PMK, are also constant attackers on the ruling DMK. While PMK cornered and admonished DMK on the issue of social justice, Tamil Manila Congress leader G.K. Vasan considered the government's failure on the Cauvery issue and tried to win over the sons of the soil in his favor. Strong leaders like Radhika Sharath Kumar, TTV Dinakaran are working day and night to bring NDA to a better position in the state. The party has also tried to woo voters for stardom by introducing some actresses like Namita in the election campaign. There is an atmosphere of excitement in the NDA camp as BJP's efforts to bring together Tamil Nadu Congress and PMK have been successful. The special vote bank of these two parties along with BJP supporters can prove to be effective in strengthening the NDA.

DMK seems confident about its votes and the vote percentage of other parties included in the India alliance. On the other hand, the main opposition party AIADMK is trying to win minority votes in its favor along with its vote bank. He is also getting the support of DMDK.
