Lo and Behold, Behenji Mayawati decides to turn modern in UP assembly elections

Lucknow: Condemning the controversial remark over reservation by RSS ideologue Manmohan Vaidya, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo, Mayawati on Friday said that outclassing reservation from system is unconstitutional and casteist.

Mayawati attacked RSS by saying that the RSS' take on reservation is unfortunate and condemnable.

Shifting the gun towards Narendra Modi government, Mayawati said the Centre works on policies made by the RSS, hence, it keeps on trying to end reservation benefits for scheduled and backward classes.

Mayawati affirmed that her party will not let RSS anti-reservation thought process to prevail.

Earlier in the day, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) had said that people in Uttar Pradesh need ‘opportunities’ and not reservation.

Interestingly, the controversial tweet was later changed, stating, “As long as social discrimination remains in the society, reservation is needed."

“We should all work together to end the cast based discrimination in the society,” another tweet added.

The twitter handle, however, is not the verified RSS account and is handled by RSS workers.
