Lucknow: Dubbing Parivartan Yatra of BJP as ' Divert Attention Yatra', the BSP Supremo Mayawati on Saturday attributed its failure to the demonetisation move by the Centre.

''After having failed to fulfill most of the promises made by Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party during the Lok Sabha elections, the party had organised 'Parivartan Yatra' to divert public attentions from the core issue,'' she said adding ''Parivartan Yatra' failed miserably despite the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah at some places.''

Issuing a statement on the concluding day of Parivartan Yatra, the Bahujan Samaj Party leader said it was the wrath of the people over the odds they had to face following demonetisation which caused undoings for the BJP. ''The BJP is going to suffer heavily in the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh,'' she said.

Mayawati said even the gimmicks by Modi and others the every other day and 'hired' crowd could not save the BJP's yatra because the sufferings due to note ban would never allow the people to forget and forgive the ruling party at the Centre.
