Mayawati appeals Muslims not to waste their vote on SP

Lucknow: BSP Supremo Mayawati on Tuesday renewed her appeal to Muslims not to waste their votes by supporting Samajwadi Party in next Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

In a statement, she said it was no use for Muslims to vote for SP because , in turn, it would help Bharatiya Janata Party in the electoral fight. By saying so, the former UP Chief Minister indicated to Muslims to vote for Bahujan Samaj Party as it will be coming to power and en-mass vote to her party would not divide the minority votes.

She also sought to remind the electorate that the ruling SP in the state was still strife-ridden and the frequent changes in the candidates further validate this.

BSP is placed third in the country:

  • Mayawati said that the BSP may have witnessed poll reverses in the last Lok Sabha elections but figures tell different story.
  • As per the polling percentage, the BSP has emerged as the third largest party in the country after BJP and Congress.
  • This was despite the fact that BSP had not won a single seat in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
  • She said the SP had transferred its vote to BJP in 2014, not BSP.

SP is desperate for alliance:

  • The BSP Supremo said the SP was desperate to have alliance in the next UP assembly polls.
  • This comes out because of the beleaguered position of SP, she points out.
  • The SP had contested 2012 assembly polls alone then why does it want alliance, she asks.
  • It clearly shows the SP is in jitter.

Mayawati attacks the demonetisation move once again saying more than a month has passed since the announcement by the PM Modi on November 8 last but the people were still queuing up at the banks. The cash problems of the common man are still to be solved while the government at the Centre remains clueless.
