Mamata Banerjee's party fields Lalitesh Tripathi from Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat of UP
Samajwadi Party released its third list on March 15. In this, the party had left Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat for Trinamool Congress.
Trinamool Congress has fielded former MLA Lalitesh Pati Tripathi from Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. This was announced in a press release issued by Trinamool on March 15.
Actually, Samajwadi Party released its third list on March 15. In this, the party had left Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat for Trinamool Congress. Since then there was speculation that Lalitesh Pati Tripathi would contest from this seat. A few hours later, Trinamool announced this.
Lalitesh Pati Tripathi has expressed gratitude to Trinamool President and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Recently, he had met SP President Akhilesh Yadav and made speculations.
Lalitesh is the great grandson of late Pandit Kamalapati Tripathi, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is currently a member of Trinamool Congress. Before this he was in the Congress Party. He has been MLA from Madihan, Mirzapur in 2012 on Congress ticket. After this he also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but lost.
In the year 2021, Tripathi left Congress and joined TMC. By fielding him, the 'India' alliance is trying to tap into the Brahmin vote bank.
