Mahua Moitra did not appear before ED, says - busy in election campaign

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra has ignored the summons of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and said that she will campaign in Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday. Mahua Moitra was asked to appear for questioning at the ED office in Delhi.
Mahua Moitra said that "I will leave for campaigning in Krishnanagar constituency in the afternoon." Let us tell you that ED had issued a fresh summons to Moitra and Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani for questioning in the case of violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
49-year-old TMC leader Mahua Moitra had been called for questioning twice by the central agency but she did not appear citing official work and demanded postponement of the notice. Let us tell you that Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December for 'immoral conduct'. His party has again made him a candidate from Krishnanagar seat of West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Central Investigation Agency (CBI) had raided the TMC leader's premises on Saturday in connection with allegedly taking money and asking questions. A few days before this, the Lokpal had directed the CBI to investigate the allegations made against Moitra by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. Moitra says that she has not done anything wrong.
