Keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections, BJP's eyes are fixed on Bihar. BJP's role in Bihar has been that of Nitish Kumar's ally party for a long time. But this time she has come into the leadership role. BJP is now in the leading position in Bihar NDA and is going to contest the elections on maximum seats.

As soon as the ongoing deadlock with LJP's Chirag Paswan faction ended, the seat sharing formula was also approved. Now it has become clear that BJP will contest elections on 17 out of 40 seats in Bihar. Nitish Kumar's JDU will field its candidates on 16 seats and Chirag Paswan's LJP on 5 seats. Whereas Upendra Kushwaha and Jitan Ram Manjhi have got 1 seat each.

After a long deadlock, an agreement has been reached on seat sharing between BJP and Chirag Paswan in Bihar. BJP had clearly offered 6 seats to Chirag Paswan. According to sources, opposition group INDIA had offered 8 seats to LJP. Of these, it had won 6 seats in 2019. Chirag Paswan had recently claimed that every party wants an alliance with him and wants to have him on their side. He compromised on five seats. After the meeting, he also made it clear that his uncle Pashupati Paras will not be given any seat from his quota.

Approval of seat sharing in Bihar is a profitable deal for BJP. BJP was earlier isolated due to Nitish Kumar joining the grand alliance. Now with his return to NDA he has once again shined. However, the party has made it clear that it is not behind anyone.

In 2019 also, a 50:50 formula was agreed upon between BJP and JDU. Both had contested elections on equal number of seats. BJP and JDU contested 17 seats each and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) contested six seats. At that time LJP was led by Chirag Paswan's father Ram Vilas Paswan. The NDA alliance had won 39 out of 40 seats, out of which only one seat went to the opposition.
