New Delhi: The counting of votes for the recently held assembly elections 2018 in five states - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram, is underway. Congress has performed exceptionally well and is for sure forming government in Chhattisgarh and most likely in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

TRS has bagged Telangana, while MNF is forming government in Mizoram. The final results are as under.

ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS RESULT

Madhya Pradesh: As many as 2,907 candidates were in fray for the November 28 assembly polls as Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan of BJP is attempting a fourth term in office, while challenger Congress expects to return to power after a 15-year gap.

Rajasthan: The fate of Rajasthan's 2,274 candidates, of whom 189 are women, was on stake. It was between BJP and Congress and latter dominated the state by staying much ahead in the seat count.

Chhattisgarh: This was a prestige battle for three-term Chief Minister Raman Singh of the BJP and the opposition Congress' fight for resurgence. Congress, however, emerged winner.

Telangana: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi is racing ahead here.

Mizoram: The Congress is in power in Mizoram, while the TRS ruled Telangana before the assembly was dissolved there.

- Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said, "Voters have rejected what was unwanted, congratulations to them."

- In Vasundhara Raje's Rajasthan, all of her close ministers have lost, including former BJP president Ashok Parnami. The BJP has particularly suffered the biggest blow in Jaipur city as four of the seven seats were lost to the Congress.

- After his win, Sachin Pilot expresses gratitude to the people of his constituency, ensures development for all:

- Vasundhara Raje from BJP has won from Jhalrapatan constituency defeating Jaswant Singh's son and Congress candidate Manvendra Singh.

- Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah took to Twitter and posted that the wind is changing in the country.

- Mizo National Front wins 12 seats, Independents win 7 seats in Mizoram.

- The TRS' Harish Rao wins in Siddipet and becomes nation's youngest politician to be elected MLA six times.

- Nothing is yet clear from the trends. Congratulations to the MLA candidates and the political parties that are winning. But the Mahagathbandhan has failed terribly in Telangana.: Rajnath Singh.

- Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party may not have come yesterday, but they will come to us tomorrow or day after. Rahul Gandhi has had a great first year as President. Congress has a bright future: Ashok Gehlot.

- Chief Minister of Mizoram Lal Thanhawla has lost from Champhai South seat as MNF's TJ Lalnuntluanga has won.

- Congress' Sachin Pilot said that Rahul Gandhi became party president exactly a year ago this day, so this result is a gift for him. Congress will form Govt in three state.

- Ashok Gehlot said that Party President will decide on who will be the Chief Minister.

- TRS members celebrate outside party office in Hyderabad as the party leads in trends.

- TRS(Telangana Rashtra Samithi) has won its first seat in Jagtial Sanjay Reddy defeated Congress leader Jeevan Reddy.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a meeting of BJP core group as today is the first day of Winter Session of the Parliament.

- All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM ) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi wins first seat from Chandrayangutta constituency in Telangana

-Hawan is being performed outside Rahul Gandhi's residence.

- According to official ECI trends, former Chhattisgarh CM Ajit Jogi is at third position at Marwahi. BJP is leading and Congress at second.
