New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had given adjournment notice in Lok Sabha on Wednesday over the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Lakhimpur-Kheri violence case. However, before Rahul Gandhi could speak on the issue in the House, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm due to uproar by opposition MPs. In the notice, Rahul Gandhi had demanded a discussion in the House on the SIT report by adjourning the proceedings of the House.

Responding to a question related to the discussion on the Lakhimpur Kheri issue in Parliament, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, "We are making efforts." They are not allowing us to discuss. We said that his ministers are involved in this, it should be discussed. But they are not allowing discussion.

Significantly, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case has claimed on the basis of the investigation and evidence so far that the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra 'Teni' and his associates were deliberately, well-planned. The incident was carried out under the conspiracy.

In the application given in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Chief Investigating Inspector of SIT Vidyaram Diwakar has requested to prosecute the accused under the sections of the above charges.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case:

Ashish Mishra Monu, son of the Union Minister of State for Home, and 13 of his associates are accused of thrashing the farmers protesting in Lakhimpur Kheri with a jeep on October 3. Eight people, including four farmers, were killed in this incident and in the violence that followed.

SP Yadav, Senior Prosecution Officer, Lakhimpur Kheri, said, "On the request of the SIT, Chief Judicial Magistrate Chinta Ram has filed IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) against the accused. Allowed to impose Sections 3, 25, 30 and 35 with . However, during the hearing (Tuesday), the defense counsel objected to the inclusion of section 34 of the IPC against the accused. He said that the allegation of conspiracy has already been mentioned in the FIR. Despite this, after hearing both the sides, the court allowed the objection.
