New Delhi: E Sreedharan, the BJP's chief minister face in the Kerala Assembly elections and popularly known as 'Metroman', started campaigning on Monday. He said that the BJP is fighting this election on the issue of development.

He claimed that after the April 6 assembly elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will form in Kerala. Sreedharan accused the current Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of the state that it involved in corruption, scams and nepotism.

He alleged, "The CPI (M) -led government is not committed to the development of the state. Its main focus is on the development of the party." It is noteworthy that 88-year-old Sreedharan officially nominated by BJP. Sreedharan nominated from Palakkad seat. Targeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Sreedharan alleged, "He is a good chief minister for his party but not for the state."

LDF did nothing: E Sreedharan

He alleged that the LDF government did nothing for the development of the state in the last five years. Sreedharan alleged that the CPI (M) -led government did nothing to set up a large railway line between Nilambur-Nanjangud, which would link Nangambud in Karnataka to Nilambur in Kerala. He alleged that despite getting the approval, nothing was done to lay the train from Guruvayur to Tirunavaya.

Sreedharan alleged that Sircar stopped the initial work of Light Metro to improve traffic arrangements in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. He hoped that the BJP-led NDA would win the assembly and a government would be formed under his leadership. Sreedharan said that if he is elected, he will try to restore the fame of Palakkad district in the matter of paddy production.
