Is Akhilesh Yadav prompting Yogi govt to take actions??

Lucknow: Politics has strange nuances, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has even stranger ways . It is hard to comprehend how and when does he imbibe advice from the officers he has in his close quarters.

What is seen has to be believed and that goes as the many recent decisions of UP CM are forced by the opposition (read Samajwadi Party's President Akhilesh Yadav). This phenomenon could well be followed in at least three instances when Yogi government acted or rather looked to act only after Akhilesh came out with acerbic attack on social media platforms.

It was last week when Akhilesh Yadav tweeted that while the Western UP had been facing human losses due to storm, the UP Chief Minister was busy campaigning in Karnataka assembly polls. The comment hit Yogi hard and he abandoned his Karnataka sojourn to be back and rushing to Agra to announce relief measures.

Soon after in Sitapur district, adjacent to state capital of Lucknow, when the dogs wreaked havoc biting and killing children, Akhilesh again made a scathing comment that the government of 'encounters' failed to control the strayed animals. Coupled by harsh directives from Allahabad High Court, the UP CM dashed off to Sitapur only after the tweet from SP leader.

Again, rather ironically, Samajwadi Party leader, who has always been under fire for poor law and order during his entire regime in UP, got the opportunity to make acrimonious comment on Yogi government following daylight murder of a lawyer in Allahabad. It followed another stringent action from Yogi when he removed Senior Superintendent of Police Akash Kulhari and replaced by Nitin Tiwari on Friday.

We may call it the vulnerability of Yogi, power of opposition leader or strength of social media but apparently , the actions of Yogi could be seen as reaction to Akhilesh's outburst rather than some pro-active steps required from the CM of the largest state of the country.

There has been a general feeling that the present ruling dispensation in Uttar Pradesh lacked timely action against lax officials sitting at the top. If some are taken , can SP President take credit ? who knows ?
