How ticket distribution of the Samajwadi Party is helping BJP?

No matter whatever election is held in Uttar Pradesh, Muslim voters will always play a significant role. Another common myth regarding Muslim voters is that they never want the BJP to win an election, therefore they vote for the candidate or party that seems to be taking on the BJP. It was for this reason that Congress was able to create a government in Uttar Pradesh as long as Muslim voters supported the party. However, once the Ayodhya structure was destroyed by karsevaks in 1992, Muslims lost faith in the party. Muslims deserted the Congress, and with this, the dark days of the Congress began in Uttar Pradesh, which is still ongoing.

Muslim voters

When the Muslim vote bank defected from the Congress in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party did not waste any time in concealing its Muslim supporters. With the passage of time, Muslims' confidence in Mulayam Singh and Samajwadi Party has grown. The 2007 assembly elections were an anomaly, as Muslim voters overwhelmingly supported the BSP, resulting in the formation of an absolute majority BSP administration. Amar Singh used to be a candidate for the Samajwadi Party during the time. Mulayam did not make any major decisions without the participation of Amar Singh, which is why Azam Khan was forced to leave the party. It is another issue that Amar Singh's meeting with the Samajwadi Party had deteriorated significantly later on, with Akhilesh Yadav, in particular, not just ignoring but actually insulting Amar Singh throughout the meeting.

In the 2012 assembly elections, the state of Uttar Pradesh had the largest number of Muslim MLAs elected, with 68 being elected. Previously, 64 Muslim MLAs were elected in 2002, 54 in 2007, 49 in 1977, 38 in 1996, and 37 in 1957, according to official figures. Whether Muslim voters had the power to select who would win or lose in a particular election, the number of Muslim MLAs in Uttar Pradesh, the country's biggest state, plummeted in 2017, with just 23 Muslim MLAs being elected. Previously, 23 Muslim MLAs were elected in the 1967 legislative elections, but the situation deteriorated in 1991, with just 17 Muslim MLAs being elected in the legislative elections. When it comes to the drop in Muslim representation in the 2017 assembly elections, it was mostly due to the BJP's outstanding performance, which resulted in the party winning more than 300 seats. When the Yogi administration was founded in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP had not elected a single Muslim MLA to the state legislature, despite the fact that 64 Muslim candidates had won the state's 2012 assembly elections.

A Muslim majority constitutes around 20% of the state's population. The proportion of Muslims in the Assembly has now dropped to 5.9 percent of the total. In 2012, 17.1 percent of the population identified as Muslim. The Bahujan Samaj Party head Mayawati and the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav have nominated a big number of Muslim candidates in the 2019 assembly election as they did in the previous two elections. Owaisi's party is also running a big number of Muslim candidates, which is unusual for the party. However, the exact number of Muslim legislators in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will not be known until after the election results are announced. At the moment, all political parties, whether it is the SP or the BSP or the Congress or Owaisi's party, seem to have a high level of trust with Muslim voters. As a result of the Muslim vote bank, the leaders of the aforementioned parties have lost sight of the distinction between what is right and wrong, good and terrible. He is coming to believe that any choice he makes in order to obtain power would be accepted by all people. Samajwadi Party in particular seems to be too enthusiastic about Muslim votes and candidates. He believes that the Muslim candidate will prove to be Trump's ace card for the SP. And it's for this reason that so many corrupt dabanggs and rioters have been issued tickets by him.
