Govt is mine, so is the son, says Mulayam Singh in Jaswantnagar

Etawah: Stating that government is his and so is his Chief Minister son Akhilesh Yadav, former Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said he was bound to see his brother and senior party leader Shivpal Yadav being thrown out of his position.

Mulayam opened up about the family feud while talking to reporters in Jaswantnagar, the constituency of Shivpal, where he went to campaign for his brother.

The SP patriarch seemed quite annoyed with his son holding the top post and especially with his style of governance. Mulayam said, "I insisted on doing several works from the Akhilesh government and even faced opposition from my own leaders."

Mulayam, however, attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by saying that the Centre did nothing to curb the price rise of various commodities in past 2.5 years.

He said, "Several schemes were run by the state government for farmers and small businessmen but BJP government at the Centre never supported it."

Polling in Jaswantnagar will take place in 3rd out of the seven phases of UP Assembly Polls on February 19.
