The election results of five states of the country including Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will be declared on Sunday.

The exit polls have predicted edge for Congress in Telangana and Chhattisgarh and a close contest in Madhya Pradesh while an edge for the BJP in Rajasthan.

The election picture of the states will become clear on Sunday but now speculations are being made as to what impact these election results can have on the country's politics and the general elections to be held next year.

However, the results of the last general elections were completely opposite to the results of the 2018 assembly elections. For example, Congress formed governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, but in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP wiped out Congress by winning all 25 seats in Rajasthan, while Congress could win only two out of 11 seats in Chhattisgarh and only one out of 29 Congress seats in Madhya Pradesh.

Political analysts believe that this time the scenario has changed somewhat. Still, whether the assembly elections of five states have any impact on the next general elections or not, one thing is clear that the political picture of the country can definitely be seen changed.

The I.N.D.I.A alliance of 28 parties led by the Congress has taken shape and its activities will increase after the election results, while the BJP-led NDA government at the Center will also put itself in 'election mode' as per the results.

The results of Telangana will also have an impact on national politics. BRS is trying to score a hat-trick of power there. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) has been talking about a 'non-Congress, non-BJP' alliance. If he is not able to form the government, then he may leave this notion and get attracted towards NDA and if he wins the elections, his efforts to expand his party on the national platform will intensify.

In the general elections, KCR will be in a position to bargain with both NDA and India. The impact of victory or defeat will also be visible on the inclination of BJD in Odisha and YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh in the general elections. Currently, both the parties are seen indirectly supporting NDA in national politics.
