Election Commission bans Lok Sabha Elections 2024 'EXIT POLL', issues notification informing date and time
The prohibitory period will begin at 7 am on April 19 and end at 6:30 pm on June 1.
The Election Commission of India has issued a notification prohibiting conducting, publishing and disseminating exit polls related to the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and assembly elections to be held in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha. The prohibitory period will begin at 7 am on April 19 and end at 6:30 pm on June 1.
The Election Commission of India said this ban applies to all types of media, including print, electronic or any other dissemination method. Display of any election-related material, including the results of opinion polls or any other survey, on electronic media will be prohibited during the period of 48 hours till the conclusion of the voting process for the General Elections and Assembly Elections.
It is noteworthy that on March 16, the Election Commission had announced to hold general elections in seven phases. Along with this, assembly elections were also announced in four states. After this the first phase nomination has been completed. Now the nomination for the second phase is going on. The first phase of voting will be held on April 19 and the seventh phase of voting will be held on June 1. The voting results will come on June 4.
