Amid ED summons and heightened political tension, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has strategically placed a motion seeking a vote of confidence in the assembly. This move comes in the wake of the ED summoning Kejriwal for the sixth time, linking him to an investigation into the now-scrapped liquor policy.

In a fiery address to the assembly, Kejriwal dismissed the allegations as a ploy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to destabilize his government. He asserted, "This so-called liquor scam is not a scam at all. They (BJP) do not want to carry out a fair investigation. All the AAP leaders have been arrested under the guise of this scam. Their only aim is to topple the Delhi government by one means or another."

This move for a vote of confidence sets the stage for a crucial discussion in the assembly scheduled for tomorrow. The political atmosphere is charged, with Kejriwal alleging that the BJP attempted to poach AAP MLAs to orchestrate his government's downfall through law enforcement agencies.

This development unfolds against the backdrop of the ongoing Budget Session of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha Assembly, marking the fifth session of the seventh Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The ED summons, the sixth in line, directs Kejriwal to appear before the central probe agency on February 19. The chief minister, maintaining his innocence, labels these notices as "illegal." A Delhi court's response to an ED-filed complaint reinforces the summons, stating that there are sufficient grounds for proceeding against Kejriwal.

Key AAP leaders, including Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh, have already faced incarceration in money laundering cases, adding another layer of complexity to the political landscape.
