New Delhi: The Home Ministry on Thursday withdrew the security of Mukul Roy, who had joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) except the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Let us inform that after joining TMC, Mukul Roy had written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday asking him to withdraw his CRPF security.

Mukul Roy's Z security:

Mukul Roy was given Y plus security by the central government when he left the Trinamool Congress and joined the BJP. His security was upgraded to Z category ahead of Bengal elections. Mukul Roy left the BJP and returned to the TMC on Friday.

When Mukul Roy joined TMC:

According to the information, after returning home, Mukul Roy had written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs asking that the Z plus security given to him should be withdrawn.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given him the security of the Bengal Police personnel. Police personnel will now be with him under 24-hour security. It is being said that after coming to TMC, she can be included in the Mamta government's cabinet.

Roy joined the TMC in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee. He was felicitated by Abhishek Banerjee. Moments after joining TMC, Roy said, "I have joined TMC today. In the present circumstances, no one will stay in Bharatiya Janata Party."

CM Banerjee welcomed the father-son duo at the TMC headquarters. "We welcome Mukul Roy. He will play an important role in the party," the West Bengal CM said. The TMC supremo further said, "Mukul Roy was threatened in BJP, it affected his health." Senior TMC leader Partha Chatterjee said, "Mukul Roy has shown a desire to come back. We welcome him and Subhranshu Roy in front of Mamata Banerjee."
