BSP supremo Mayawati to leave Hinduism and adopt this religion

Lucknow: President of Bahujan Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati, made a remark on converting her religion.

Addressing an election meeting at Nagpur, Mayawati stated that Babasaheb Ambedkar had converted his religion shortly before his death.

"Before his death, Babasaheb converted his religion. Now, you would be thinking that when Behenji would follow the path of Babasaheb and convert to Buddhism. My answer is I will take diksha of Buddhism religion but at appropriate time. People in large numbers will convert their religion with me".

"The work of religious conversion will be possible when the followers of Babasaheb will follow his footsteps in the field of politics," she added.

The country's Dalit leader, on a statement by the RSS chief, said that her party does not agree with the 'Hindu Rashtra'.

"Babasaheb Ambedkar converted to Buddhism due to alleged caste discrimination in Hinduism," she added.
