After several days of discussions, the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, which includes BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP, has reached an agreement on some seats regarding their seat sharing. According to media reports, the Mahayuti alliance has agreed on four seats from where Ajit Pawar will field his candidates.

Sharad Pawar's nephew and "real" NCP leader will field candidates from Baramati, Raigarh, Shirur and Parbhani. BJP will get 31 seats and Shiv Sena will contest on 13 seats. Let us tell you that Baramati is the stronghold of Ajit Pawar. The Pawar family has been contesting and winning elections from this seat for decades. However, after Ajit Pawar and his supporters separated from the party, this year the Baramati seat may see an electoral contest between members of the same family.

Sitting Baramati MP and Ajit Pawar's cousin Supriya Sule is likely to face her sister-in-law and Ajit Pawar's wife Sunetra Pawar. Ajit Pawar has decided to field NCP Maharashtra President and sitting MP Sunil Tatkare in the elections from Raigarh seat. He will contest against Anant Geete, who is reportedly being fielded by Uddhav Thackeray on this seat. Let us tell you that Anant Geete has also been a Union Minister in the first term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In Shirur, NCP can field Pradeep Kand or Adhalrao Patil but both the leaders are not part of the party. In fact, former Shiv Sena MP Adhalrao Patil was chosen by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the head of MHADA last month and Pradeep Kand heads a district cooperative bank in Pune.

NCP will probably field Rajesh Vitekar against sitting Parbhani MP and Uddhav Thackeray camp leader Sanjay Haribhau Jadhav. In the talks held so far regarding seat sharing, out of 48 seats in the state, BJP will contest on 31, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena on 13 and Ajit Pawar's NCP on four.
