Allahabad: The Uttar Pradesh Bhartiya Janata Party president Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday asserted that ‘Ram mandir’ would not be the party’s plank in the next assembly polls.

“BJP will contest the election with development as the prime agenda and the Ram mandir issue will definitely not be raised this time,” said Maurya.

What else the BJP state president said:

  • The party will not ask for votes raising the Ram mandir issue in the next assembly elections.
  • The construction of Ram mandir in Ayodhya completely depends on the Supreme Court’s decision.
  • The party will give some thought to ‘prohibition’ if it wins in the state.
