Rahul Gandhi has set out on Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra to gain momentum before the Lok Sabha elections. Congress has a lot of expectations from this visit.

The Congress high command believes that this yatra will be a huge success, which will create a wave against the BJP. But Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has a different opinion regarding this matter. He feels that BJP will emerge as the largest party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress leader Tharoor said that there is a possibility that the numerical strength of the current government may be slightly reduced. "I strongly feel that they can be brought down to such a level where many potential allies will not want to associate with them," he said, speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival on the Kozhikode beach. Given that India has diverse colours, it is not important that the India Alliance has to achieve complete compromise in all the states.

Addressing the issue of seat-sharing among the India Alliance members, Tharoor hoped for an arrangement in as many states as possible to ensure a preventable defeat.

Citing the example of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the Congress leader remarked that in Kerala it is difficult to imagine that CPM and Congress will agree on seat sharing, however, in Tamil Nadu, CPI, CPM, Congress and DMK are together and there is no dispute.

He said that they had fought the last elections together and there is a possibility of fighting this time also.

He said that it is important to make people aware of the fact that the best candidate should be elected from their constituency. Everyone should know that only people of Varanasi can vote for Modi. If elsewhere they want to vote only to ensure that Modi becomes Prime Minister, that is entirely their choice. But people need to think about whether they want an effective administrator who is good fort heir area.
