Nurturing dreams to return to power in Rajasthan in the forthcoming assembly scheduled to be held in November/December this year, the BJP is going all out to wrest the desert state from Congress.

That the BJP is taking the assembly poll seriously can be gauged from the fact that prime minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah have been personally monitoring the party’s campaign strategy in the state.

Interestingly while the Congress would like to keep the election state-centric focusing mainly on the issues concerning the common people like inflation, the BJP would seek to contest the poll in the name of Modi.

According to the BJP sources in Jaipur, Modi had summoned all the party MPs from Rajasthan to Delhi for consultations. They include 24 members of the Lok Sabha and four Rajya Sabha members. They are likely to meet Modi on August eight.

Union ministers from Rajasthan Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Shekhawat, Bhupendra Yadav, and Kailash Chaudhary would also be part of the team that would be meeting the prime minister.

Incidentally, Modi had already toured the poll-bound desert state seven times in the recent past.

Sources said that Modi would also have a meeting with the BJP legislators from Rajasthan in the very near future to discuss election elated strategy.

Sources also said that the BJP central leadership was worried over the ongoing squabbles within the state unit of the party and reported resentment of former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.

Scindia, sources said, wanted the party high command to declare her the CM face in the forthcoming assembly poll but the party had so far not done so. A sulking Scindia has reportedly been maintaining distance from the party programs in the state.
