On the lines of Madhya Pradesh, BJP will make MPs contest elections in Rajasthan also. The MPs will be asked to contest on difficult seats. The MPs of the state, who attended the meeting of the Central Election Committee and Parliamentary Board in Delhi on Sunday, have been asked to be prepared for the assembly elections.

It has also been said that they should not expect safe seats. This means that MPs may get the task of finding the most challenging seats. There were also indications of change of seats of many senior leaders in the meeting. There has also been discussion on the electoral role of Vasundhara Raje.

In the matter of candidate selection, now the entire exercise is being done by the high command instead of the state leadership.

According to sources, BJP has instructed the MPs to be prepared for the assembly elections. Just as BJP made the contest tough and interesting in Madhya Pradesh by fielding 7 MPs including 3 Union Ministers, similarly preparations are going on for Rajasthan also.

The BJP high command had taken reports and feedback related to the candidates through its survey and by sending MLAs and leaders from different states to different assembly seats of Rajasthan.

According to highly placed sources in BJP, the high command had conducted two separate surveys in August-September before the candidate selection. Of these, BJP saw an atmosphere in favor of 116 seats. However, there is some conflict and challenge in the survey on 30 percent (32) seats. BJP is worried about this and is taking slow steps in candidate selection.

According to sources, if the MPs who will be fielded in the Assembly elections are defeated, then their claim for ticket in the Lok Sabha elections will automatically end. In such a situation, they are worried about their political future. Only if the election is won, the claim for ticket in the Lok Sabha elections will be strengthened.
