Apparently buoyed by its resounding win in the recently concluded Madhya Pradesh assembly poll, the BJP is now aiming to win all the 29 seats in the state next year’s Lok Sabha polls.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that his party would be starting 'Mission-29' with the aim of winning all the Lok Sabha seats in the state in the elections to be held next year. He was addressing a gathering during a one-day visit to Chhindwara, the home constituency of Congress state president Kamal Nath.

Chhindwara was the only Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh that the BJP failed to win in the 2019 general elections.

Days after his party retained power in the state with a landslide victory in the assembly elections, Chouhan said, "We are starting Mission-29 in Madhya Pradesh from today... I worked 20-22 hours during the assembly elections.

Later speaking to reporters, Chauhan said that he is fortunate to be working under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “We have started the mission to win all 29 seats including Chhindwara. Madhya Pradesh will give all its 29 seats to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister again.

Addressing another function, Chauhan said that this time BJP got 48.5 percent votes in the assembly elections, which is the highest till date. Thanking the people, he said that earlier, when BJP had won 173 seats, its share in the total votes cast was still 42 percent.

"This is a victory for the welfare and development work done by the 'double engine government' (BJP governments at the Center and the state working together) and the 'Laadli Brahmin' (women beneficiaries of the Ladli Brahmin scheme)," the Chief Minister said. '

This time, BJP, which won 163 out of 230 assembly seats, has lost all the seven seats in Chhindwara.
