In an apparent bid to counter any possible discontent among the electorate, the BJP is contemplating to deny re-nomination to its sitting MLAs from Jaipur.

In the assembly elections, BJP is preparing to change candidates on 8 assembly seats of Jaipur city. BJP is likely to bet on new faces on these seats. At the same time, women and youth can be given a chance on some seats.

If political sources are to be believed, RSS has also suggested BJP to field new faces on 8 seats of Jaipur city. After this BJP is moving forward in this direction. In the last elections, BJP was able to win only three seats in Jaipur city and had to face defeat on five other seats.

In such a situation, this time BJP is aiming to win at least 6 out of 8 seats by changing the faces on these seats. In the last election, BJP had won only 3 seats.

Actually, Jaipur city has Hawamahal, Kishanpol, Adarsh Nagar, Civil Line, Vidyadhar Nagar, Sanganer, Malviya Nagar and Jhotwara assembly seats. Out of these, in the last elections BJP had won only 3 seats in Sanganer, Malviya Nagar and Vidyadhar Nagar. Hawamahal, Kishanpol, Adarsh Nagar, Civil Line and Jhotwara seats were won by Congress.

BJP wants to give opportunity to new people in Jaipur city. In such a situation, those leaders can be replaced first who has contested assembly elections four to five times on BJP ticket. Along with this, the leaders who lost in the previous elections can also be changed.

Kalicharan Saraf, MLA from Malviya Nagar, is a 7-time MLA. He has been contesting elections continuously since 1985. Earlier he used to contest elections from Johri Bazar assembly seat.

It remains to be seen if the experiment is able to deliver the goods for the BJP.
