BJP Rajya Sabha member attacks Ashok Gehlot

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Kirori Lal Meena on Tuesday accused the Ashok Gehlot led Congress government in Rajasthan of patronising corruption, nepotism and failing on the law and order front.

Speaking to reporters, Meena also said that the state government had only apprehended ‘’small fishes’’ and allowed the ‘crocodiles’ (bigger culprits) to go scot free.

‘’We had furnished credible evidence to the government with regard to numerous leaks of competitive exam papers forcing it to cancel many papers but the government chose to apprehend only the small fish and let the bigger ones go away,’’ he alleged.

He also blamed the state government for the acquittal of the Jaipur serial bomb blast accused saying that they were able to escape punishment as the state government failed to put plead its case effectively.

The BJP MP alleged that many leaders of the ruling party were involved in illegal activities. ‘’The people of the state will punish Congress in th forthcoming assembly elections,’’ he added.

Assembly polls were scheduled to be held in Rajasthan later this year.

Meena heaped praise on the centre and said that the central schemes had benefitted the common people greatly. ‘’India has become the fifth biggest economy in the world leaving Britain behind and the credit for this goes to prime minister Narendra Modi,’’ Meena remarked.
