Lucknow: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will tour several states including Uttar Pradedsh to create a pro-prohibition lobby in the country. His campaign in the state for the purpose will begin inVaranasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency.Three days later he will be here.

The “success” of the prohibition policy chalked out by him is the reason behind his tour. He may visit Nagpur, Bhopal and Gujarat after U P. There is no prohibition in the state nor has government come out in support of this policy and, so, he is unlikely to receive a favourable response.

A party leader, K C Tyagi, however, told reporters here on Saturday that several women and other organisations have come out in open support of his policy.

Prohibition will cause revenue loss of more than Rs 4500 crore in Bihar alone. But this should be sidelined keeping in view the loss liquor consumption causes to kisans who have monthly income of Rs 3000 per head ,he said.

During the tour Nitish will explore the possibility of bringing the non-BJP parties together and forming a grand alliance. His first task is to see that the BJP meets the fate of Bihar in U P where elections will be held next year.
