Patna: Ahead of upcoming Lok sabha election Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Bihar, on Sunday, to launch his political campaign with the state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in NDA's Sankalp rally, at Gandhi Maidan.

This is the first time Nitish Kumar and Modi are sharing the same platform after they shared the stage at a political rally, in 2009, Ludhiana.

Highlights of the event:

-Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded the rally with another round of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" chants. PM Modi will be addressing another rally in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi. He is scheduled to deliver a speech there at 3:30 pm on Sunday.

-Referring to Saudi Crown Prince's visit to India, PM Modi, "On my request, the Crown Prince increased India's quota for Haj pilgrims." He also said, crown prince decided to release 850 Indians lodged in Saudi jails. I thank Crown Prince and it is a proof of strengthening ties with other countries. He further cited the OIC's invitation to Sushma Swaraj as an honourary guest to appreciate India's diplomatic win.

-While the entire country is rejoicing over the IAF's successful airstrikes on terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot, few of our own people have raised suspicions on the surgical strike, said PM Modi alluding it to the Congress. PM Modi said Now they have even started asking for proof of the #AirStrike. Why are Congress and its allies demoralising our forces? Why are they giving statements which are benefiting our enemies?

All Praises For PM Modi At Sankalp Rally

Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, has begun addressing Sankalp Rally. Thanking the Indian Air Force for their "commendable" action against terrorists, Nitish Kumar lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving the security forces a free hand in dealing with terror outfits."I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forcing Pakistan to release Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman with a short span," said Nitish Kumar while praising the Modi goevrnment's diplomacy.

-PM Modi In Patna For 'Sankalp Rally'

-Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Gandhi Maidan for the 'Sankalp Rally' in Patna. He is scheduled to address the public at 12:45 pm. PM Modi was received by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.

-Thousands of people have gathered in Patna to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar share the stage at the NDA's Sankalp rally.

-It is also the first joint rally by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar since November 2005.

-Billboards, banners, posters and hoardings with pictures of NDA leaders have come up across Patna.

-This is Modi's second visit to the state within a fortnight, the first being on February 17 in Begusarai, from where he inaugurated and launched projects.

-Modi's first rally in Gandhi Maidan when he was campaigning as the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate in October 2013, was marred by a series of blasts that killed six people and injured nearly 100 others.

-The NDA has hired 18 trains and nearly 5,000 buses to ferry its supporters to the Sankalp rally.

-Thousands of people were seen shouting slogans "Modi zindabad", "Abki baar Modi Sarkar".

-Senior Superintendent of Police Garima Malik said nearly 4,000 police personnel had been deployed in and around the sprawling ground.

-The police have also set up dozens of watch towers and 60 door-frame metal detectors were installed. Bomb disposal and anti-terrorist squads too have been deployed, Malik said.
