Lucknow: Fresh from the huge majority in the state assembly, the Uttar Pradesh BJP are meeting here on Monday for a two-day state executive meeting which is likely to prepare a road-map in view of the Lok Sabha elections in 2019.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the opening session in the presence of state Bharatiya Janata Party president Keshav Prasad Maurya and several senior leaders. The party's national president Amit Shah will conclude the meet with his address on Tuesday.

The meeting would also discuss strategies for the upcoming civic polls in the state slated to be held in June. The saffron party is upbeat for the civic polls after a landslide victory in the recently held assembly polls.

Some internal party sources also stated that while the state is going through a transitional phase, the senior leaders will issue them a list of Dos and Don'ts in order to consolidate BJP's position in the times to come. Some incidents of high handed behaviour of BJP cadre have not gone down well with the party leadership and some sweeping directions are likely to be issued during the two-day meet.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also chaired a meeting with the deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and other ministers, earlier in the day, before heading towards the party’s executive meeting. Some political and economic resolutions may also be passed in the meeting, the first after BJP regained power in Uttar Pradesh after a gap of about two decades.
