Punjab's assembly elections are near, and candidates from a variety of political groups have headed to take part in the battle of politics. Four of the eight assembly constituencies in Patiala are represented by sons, who are vying to continue on their father's political legacy in the state. Patiala (rural), Patiala (Urban), Sanaur, and Samana Halke are some of the cities on this list.

The sons of current cabinet ministers, previous cabinet ministers, and former members of Parliament are among those who have been nominated are contesting for the election. Using the work done by their dads in their political careers to date, as well as the accomplishments of their different parties, they are all reaching out to the voters.

Mohit Mohindera, a Youth Congress politician and the son of Punjab Cabinet Minister Brahm Mohindera, would be running for the first time in the Punjab Assembly elections from the Patiala Dehati constituency. Mohit Mohindera is running for office on the basis of the development work done by his father, who is also running for office. His father is a member of the Legislative Assembly for this district. Ajitpal Singh Kohli, a former mayor of Akali, is running for the seat of Patiala Urban on the Aam Aadmi Party's platform.

Seen here with his father, Surjit Singh Kohli, a former Akali cabinet member. Ajitpal Singh Kohli will run in the state assembly elections for the first time in order to continue on his political heritage, which he established. The Kohli family has blocked the AAP because they are upset over not receiving a ticket from the Akali Dal.

A candidate for the Congress Party is Rajinder Singh, the son of Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Lal Singh, who is running for the seat of Samana. Rajinder Singh is the current Member of Parliament for this district. For the second time in this seat, he finds himself in the thick of the action.

Harinderpal Singh Chandumajra is a candidate for the Akali Dal in the Sannore constituency. His father, Prem Singh Chandumajra, is a former Member of Parliament who is running for the seat of Ghanour in the same district as Harinderpal.

In the same vein, Vikramjit Inder Singh Chahal, the son of Bharatinder Singh Chahal, who served as media adviser to former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh from Sanaur, is engaged in a political battle with the Punjab Lok Congress Party (PLCP). Vikramjit Inder Singh Chahal is also campaigning for votes among the general public, citing the accomplishments of Katan and his father's legacy as justification.
