Saharanpur: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan once again took jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his past occupation of a tea vendor and his recent drum playing episodes in Japan and Tanzania. The SP leader stated that he shares many qualities with the PM and is a fit candidate to for prime ministerial post.

“I have all the qualities of becoming Prime Minister. I can make tea, play the drum, cook food and I wear proper clothes. Besides, I am not all that bad looking or am I corrupt,” he said at an e-rickshaw distribution function in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

All promises by PM were lies, says Khan:

  • The leader also targeted Modi for his promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh each in the account of every Indian. The minister said, “If I become the Prime Minister, I assure you, I will deposit Rs 20 lakh in accounts of 130 crore people within six months. I am not like those who don’t keep their promises.”
  • He said that if Modi would have kept his promise people did not have to take e-rickshaws to earn livelihood. “Everyone would have been Crorepati (Millionaire),” he stated.
  • Addressing the gathering at the event he stated that a rikshaw puller always faces difficulty in getting his daughter married. “The probable groom’s family rejects the proposal because of his social status and work,” he said.
  • The minister also attacked the PM saying that he was not willing to work for the betterment of poor and was helping those who have ample of it.

On Uttar Pradesh government’s e-rickshaw initiative:

The minister said that Akhilesh government was replacing cycle rickshaws with e-rickshaws so that these rickshaw pullers could earn better and regain their self-respect.
