Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi has described the inauguration of Ram Temple as a political program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has attacked Congress saying that by not participating in the consecration of the Ram temple, the Congress has itself made it a political event. Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha program is going to be held on 22 January in Ayodhya.

In response to a question asked on Rahul's statement in the press conference in the capital Dispur, Assam CM said, 'If Rahul Gandhi had gone there, it would not have got any political colour. We gave you an opportunity to participate in this program so that it remains a non-political event. He said, 'But you (Rahul Gandhi) and your close associates boycotted the Pran Pratishtha program. Because of this, it has now become a political program, which was not there till now.

Targeting the Gandhi family, CM Himanta said, 'Rahul and Sonia Gandhi are politicizing the program because of their anti-Hindu beliefs. Only the Congress party is politicizing this program, whereas it is being seen as a victory for Indian civilization. Everyone will go, have darshan of Ramlala and return. I don't think anyone will make political statements or give anti-Congress speeches. For the people, this is the victory of Indian civilization.

Actually, a press conference was held in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, regarding 'Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra'. Here, Rahul was asked a question about life prestige, in response to which he said, 'RSS and BJP have made the January 22 function a completely political Narendra Modi function. This is an RSS-BJP program and I think that is why the Congress President said that he will not go to this function. We respect all religions, all practices.

Congress party was invited for the Pran Pratistha to be held in Ayodhya. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and party leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Choudhary were invited. However, Congress refused to participate in this program. The party says that the incomplete temple is being consecrated before the elections, so that its electoral benefits can be taken in 2024.
