Article 370 will be scrapped before the next general election: Swamy
Agra: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy expressed hope that article 370 which prohibited certain actions in Jammu and Kashmir would be removed from the statute before the next general election.
Speaking at a special function here on Saturday, he said the President has powers to scrap any article and it was likely to be removed from the book before 2019.
Refusing to join the guessing game, the Rajya Sabha MP said, only Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows who will be the next President of the country.
In his speech he also referred to the Ram temple issue and hoped that the issue would be resolved by the end of next year and that the mandir would be constructed soon.
A bitter critic of the Congress he had no good word for the party. " Before long most of the party members will be in jail and hold its parliamentary board meeting in Tihar ". He suggested changing of Jawaharlal Nehru University's name to Subhash Chandra Bose University .
