The Supreme Court had ordered the Election Commission to conduct assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by September. After this, the government had asked the Commission about the possibility of holding the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you, the last assembly elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. In 2019, the state was divided into two parts and made a union territory.
