Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Maharashtra on Tuesday on a two-day visit. In Maharashtra, till now the seat sharing formula in NDA is stuck, hence Amit Shah's visit is considered very important. The distribution of seats between Shiv Sena-BJP and NCP Alliance in Maharashtra regarding the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 has not been done yet. According to the report, Ajit Pawar faction and CM Eknath Shinde faction, allies in the Maharashtra government, are demanding more seats. Talks are not being held on 10 seats. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether Amit Shah will be able to decide on a formula for seat sharing among the alliance.

Amit Shah visited Sambhajinagar, Akola, Jalgaon districts. Then reached Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai late on Tuesday night. Earlier, CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar welcomed the Home Minister at the airport.

The first round of meeting took place in the guest house at around 10:15 am. During this, in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Amit Shah discussed the seats with Ajit Pawar for about 30 minutes. After this, there was a discussion with Eknath Shinde about seat distribution from 10:45 to 11:35 pm. There was a conversation between Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shinde for the next 50 minutes. According to sources, some success is expected soon.

Out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, BJP wants to contest elections on 30 seats, so that it can achieve its target of winning 370 seats at the national level and taking the NDA to the figure of 400. According to sources, BJP is ready to leave 12 seats for Shiv Sena and six seats for NCP, these alliance partners are not happy with this.

According to sources, Chief Minister Shinde is pushing for 23 seats for his party, the same figure on which Shiv Sena had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections before the split in 2022. CM Shinde and his party are reportedly ready to compromise on 18 seats which were won by Shiv Sena in the last Lok Sabha elections.

In view of the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has suggested a formula of 30-12-6 for seat sharing, out of which BJP will field its candidates on 30 seats. 12 seats have been left for Shiv Sena Shinde faction and 6 seats for NCP Ajit Pawar faction. While Shiv Sena Shinde faction claims 22 seats and NCP Ajit Pawar faction claims 10 seats. Of these, there is difference of opinion regarding Kalyan, South Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Shirur, Amravati, Sambhajinagar Nagar, Hingoli, Nashik, Ramtek and Maval seats.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar held an important meeting with senior leaders of his party regarding the seat sharing formula. He also reviewed the Lok Sabha constituencies before the meeting with Amit Shah. Now Amit Shah will try to resolve the differences on these 10 seats, so that a consensus can be reached on seat distribution.
