Akhilesh's repartee: Dubs MLCs resignation as 'political corruption' of BJP

Lucknow: The resignation of Samajwadi Party member of Uttar Pradesh legislative council Bukkal Nawab must be hurting the party leader Akhilesh yadav the most. It was Bukkal Nawab, on whose complaint the then Chief Minister Akhilesh had even removed the divisional commissioner of Lucknow but the political opportunism prevailed.

No wonder Akhilesh, while speaking to media, desired to speak to Nawab but could not get the response. Expectedly, the former UP CM called the resignation episode as 'political corruption' but did not divulge.

It was a shocking development when minutes after Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah landed in the state capital, three MLCs Nawab, Yashwant Singh , Madhukar Jaitley and Jaiveer Singh tendered their resignations from the upper house of state legislature.

Akhilesh, not commenting on others, singled out Bukkal Nawab's action and said he wanted to speak to him. No doubt, it was rattling for him and the party, not because of latter's political stature but due to an extended support from the party.

Here is what else the SP Chief said:

  • BJP is indulging in political corruption from Bihar to UP.
  • People are watching everything.
  • I want to talk to Bukkal Nawab once if he has not been manoeuvred by the BJP.
  • I always respect the views of senior party leaders and will continue to do that.
  • The BJP has indule itself in political corruption and will face the consequences very soon.
