Lucknow: Taking pot shots at the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government for making false claims in the white paper released on Tuesday, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said the Chief Minister has only tried to befool people with the six-month report card.

Talking to the media persons at a press conference here, the former CM said, "Yogi ji is the most incompetent person to run a government." The state government had only made fun of the plight of the poor farmers as their dues had not yet been cleared as claimed in the white paper, he added.

"Yogi Adityanath has waived off Rs 1.50 of the farmers. How is this amount going to help the farmers in re-establishing themselves?" Akhilesh asserted.

He also took a dig at the Gorakhpur tragedy in which over 60 children died due to acute shortage of oxygen supply at the BRD Medical College. He blamed the state government of being overly ignorant which led to the death of dozens of innocents.

"The tragedy happened because of negligence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state, as how could a hospital which was reviewed just four days back have such shortage of oxygen cylinders. The incident has exposed the poor medical system of the state," said the SP National President.

What else Akhilesh Yadav said?

  • The Lucknow Metro was inaugurated during the SP regime, but according to Yogi ji, it was the dream project of BJP.
  • The BJP governments in the state as well as the Centre are responsible for not creating enough jobs for the youths and the hiked prices of petrol and diesel.
  • Recently, Akhilesh had tweeted against the raised prices of petrol and diesel.
