Akhilesh Yadav is a goofy kid: UP cabinet minister SP Singh Baghel

Agra: Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister SP Singh Baghel on Monday described former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as a 'goofy kid', who should not dream of regaining power in the state in 2022 assembly elections.

On his first visit here after being inducted in Yogi Adityanath's cabinet, the UP Minor Irrigation minister said, "Akhilesh is nothing more than a mindless kid who should forget about regaining power in the state in 2022 assembly polls."

He made the remark in reply to Samajwadi Party president's statement that he will get the CM residence at 5 Kalidas Marg purified after winning state elections in 2022.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Yogi in the state are never going to be replaced by any party or leader of the country," added the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

He asserted that the Yogi Adityanath government is working on just three agendas - development, development and development. "The government is fully committed towards the construction of Agra Airport and other developmental projects across the Taj city as well as the state," he claimed.

Taking a dig at the suspended IPS officer Himanshu Kumar, who was suspended on the charges of indiscipline, Baghel said, "He is a biased official. This is the reason why Election Commission kept him away from counting of votes in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls on March 11."
