New Delhi: In tune with the Supreme Court , Union minister for water resources Uma Bharti holds the view that the Ayodhya issue should be solved through negotiations and has urged the opposition to come forward and take a lead in this connection.

In an interview given to a channel which will be telecast on Thursday night, she has named three persons who should take the initiative first-- Sonia Gandhi ( Congress president), Lalu Yadav ( former Bihar chief minister ) and Nitish Kumar ( Bihar chief minister ).

All the three have been the worst critics of the Bhartiya Janata Party and have been frequently charging it with raking up the issue to polarise Hindu voters in favour. The message she, perhaps, wants to convey is that the party as serious as others to end the dispute.

Uma who has been associated with the Mandir movement since the beginning and often been in news for controversial statements said a majority of people are in favour of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. As such, they will be doing a great service to the nation by coming forward and fulfilling their desire.

There has been lot of agitations in support of the temple and , therefore, no other movement is required to be launched, she clarified.

As far as she is concerned, she said, she is ready to face the gallows for this cause. " It is a matter of faith shared by a majority and I am with them".

The Supreme Court too had recently asked the warring groups to reach an out-of-court settlement . However, no settlement was reached till the time allotted to it. The Court now is likely to re-hear the case after taking up some more urgent matters,

It has refused to re-hear it on a priority basis. Asked to give her reaction on the subject, she said, " No comment". She refused to say anything as she did not want to be drawn into another controversy.
