Mumbai: Tata Sons on Monday sacked Cyrus P Mistry replacing him with Ratan Tata as interim Chairman of Tata Sons for four months at a meeting here on Monday.

The new selection committee including Ratan Tata, Venu Srinivasan, Amit Chandra, Ronen Sen and Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya has been made to choose Mistry’s replacement within four months.

"Tata Sons today announced its board has replaced Mr Cyrus P Mistry as Chairman of Tata Sons. The decision was taken at a board meeting held here today. The committee has been mandated to complete the selection process in four months," the statement said.

“Mr Ratan Tata will be interim chairman of the group for four months until the selection process gets done,” said TATA official.

In November 2011, Mistry was appointed as Deputy Chairman of Tata Sons.
